A necklace for Mama
Ammar put some beads together (different sizes and colors) and made a necklace for his mama in school. He told his mama "You have to wear it at night and when you go out" as he put it round her neck. He also turned to me apologileticallly and said 'I didnt get you anything, baba". I was thinking to myself, this is probably the most 'valuable' necklace his mama owns and she should treasure this for life. Short Lived Thought! Rayyan pulled the necklace till it broke and the beads fell apart. Mama and Ammar are now trying to put it together....
Ammar's new school
Ammar would be joining a new school 'Kangaroo Kids' (www.kkel.com) from June 2008. He joins LKG. Dont forget to read the Parents View section (especially the one where SRK writes as a parent. No, that wasnt the criteria for selecting the school). Ammar said he liked the school (that was a good enoigh criteria for selection)
There are so many options for schooling in Bangalore. These schools also vary in their standards and curriculum. Its difficult or almost impossible to get into one of these schools that have a high rating. In addition, we also need to consider the location (distance from home) of the school (especially at such a young age). The admission forms for these good schools seem to run out in October of the previous year for admissions in June the next year!
Schooling at this age is more about overall development then academics, and so much more about how the kids enjoying the experience of school. Lets hope we have made the right choice.

"tho..tho..tho.."
Rayyan climbs on the sofa, holds on to mama's hand and chants 'tho..tho..tho..' till he is assisted to jump down from the sofa (in true action-hero style). The 'tho..tho..tho..' is part of the '1.. tho.. 3.." run-up to the jump. And you would think that math has to be learnt in the sequential order of 1,2,3,4,5....

"Taht Too"
The younger ones seem to always imitate the elder one. If you get the elder one to do the right things, its quite easy to educate the younger. Rayyan says 'Taht Too' as often as Ammar says 'Thank You'. Or he runs around, hits the wall and falls down. Ammar would fall down, But...Rayyan has decided to place himself down slowly on the floor..lest he gets hurt.
I want to do 'Sheeee'
Rayyan decided to imitate his elder brother and sit in the potty. Now he removes his pampers (trainee pampers), holds our hand takes us to the potty. He sits waiting to do "sheee' and when he finishes he wants to be washed. All this is great fun for him and enjoys doing it..sometimes he wants to do 'sheeee' every few minutes, or maybe just because he is bored or because he needs the attention!. Works for us!
2 extra hands for Mama
Yesterday, Mother said to Ammar holding Rayyan in her arms "I dont have 4 hands, I cannot carry you too". Mama added "Yes, you think you can buy me 2 new hands..when you grow up, huh?"
Today in a fit of anger, (clenching his fists) Ammar said to his Mama "I will not buy you the 2 extra hands you wanted when i grow up, I will not buy you anything"
He added " If you tell baba not to buy me toys, I will grow up buy my own toys, and become small again..and play with them" ..Mama and baba are still pondering for a reply
